Carrie's Words

I have no pictures to post on this blog (mainly because I have been lazy with the camera), but I did want to report on Carrie’s vocabulary which is slowly but steadily increasing. She is fluent in the language of high-pitched nonsense. There is the occasional “real” word that she throws in the middle of her babble, however.

Her main words are:
  • Daddy – of course, because Daddy is the hero
  • Bye – this is her most frequently used word and she doesn’t discriminate. Even items going into the trash are bid farewell. Bye planes, bye dirty diaper, bye toys getting put away, etc.
  • Mommy - she finally started saying this much to my glee. However, she doesn't say it very often. When she does say it, she uses the sweetness little voice!
  • PLEASE (PL-EEEEE-ZZZZ!’) - she uses this when she wants more food, which is all the time. We will be in the kitchen and she will come in there, point at the counter and start saying Please. Emily (her nanny) also taught her how to use sign language to say please which just adds to the overall begging picture. Sometimes I don’t know if we have a daughter or a dog.
  • Woof, woof - every now and then we can get her to make a high-pitched barking noise.
  • Bobbie - this is her word for bottle, which we are trying to wean her off. She is not happy about this.
  • Hot - this is her latest word of the moment. Everything is hot. People, the sky, mommy's coffee, you name it...it’s HOT! We fear we have created the next Paris Hilton.
  • Whoa - Carrie likes to use this word when she seems something facinating or if she slips.

We have also gotten her to cluck like a chicken. That was entertaining.

And last but not least, she has found her nose. Her nose and its contents are her friends.

Well that is it for now!
