On our last full day in St. Lucia, we decided to check out the small beach that was under our resort. When I say under, I mean down the mountain. We thought we would get some nice exercise and hike in the 80 degree weather down there. Unfortunately, it was not worth the pain. When we got down there, we were greeted by an aneroxic cow tied to a tree, a disgruntled man from a nearby government-run home who was yelling at us and a bunch of kids that were playing soccer and enjoying some local 'grass.' We decided to immediately hike back up the mountain (I was really hurting by now!) and head back to Jalouse beach for more reading, card playing and swimming. We had a great time except that our driver forgot about us - again!

We returned that night to Ladera for dinner where I had a delicious chicken pasta dish. Unfortunately, I did not realize until about 10 bites into it that the chef thought he would be nice and throw some scallops in for free. 30 minutes later Paul and I were enjoying the hospitality at the local hospital in Soufreire. Needless to say, that was not our favorite night there! However, I must say that the ambulence service was excellent and we did discovered that prescription drugs are a lot cheaper there!
