Andrew the Hornet

Andrew (aka "the Hornet" - a new nickname Paul came up for him this morning) is quite the little character.

He has singled out his three favorite things in our house.  In third place is the phone. Not one of the 10,000 play phones that we have all over the house, including a brand new one Santa got him for Christmas, but the real phone.  He points to it and whines until you pull it off the receiver and give it to him.

In second place, are the windows in his bedroom. He climbs over there, pulls back the curtains, pulls himself up and stares out the window making happy grunting noises.

In first place is the beloved "Shark" - no, not a stuffed shark, but our dust buster.  As soon as he gets a second to escape from the "safe zone" (i.e. our gated off great room/kitchen), he crawls as fast as his little legs can carry him (hoping to avoid being caught) for the guestroom and goes straight for the shark.  He likes to lick it and push it around the floor.  Here is a shot of him in action.

Other Andrew updates:
  • He now has 5 teeth and he has been letting us know in a bad way about every single one of them.
  • He is into everything he is not supposed to be into - he has a special fondness for electrical outlets.
  • He is a self-soother and bangs his head on his crib while rocking himself to sleep. This causes Mommy some stress.
  • He is crawling, pulling up and creeping but not walking.
  • He is a VERY picky eater. He only eats bread, cheese and fruit squeezies for the most part.  Any other item dropped on his tray typically results in whining and ends up on the floor.  Ugh!
  • He likes to be held all the time - especially at night.
